Film Company Imagines US Expansion
Guildford-based Imagineer Systems, a company that develops high-value computer vision technology-based products for the film and video post production market, has achieved funding for expansion into the us.
The Accelerator Fund for £90,000, awarded by Finance South East, will enable Imagineer to increase sales and marketing resources focusing on the US market. “The US currently represents 35% of our sales,” said Allan Jaenicke, Managing Director of Imagineer Systems Ltd. “We are aiming to increase that to 50%.” Mokey, Imagineer’s first product, is a unique tool-set for removing wires, rigs, logos, scratches, hairs and other undesired elements in commercial, film and corporate video post production work. Imagineer’s second product, monet, was developed specifically for work on the film Harry Potter and the Prince of Azkaban, and provides an efficient way of placing graphical elements inside film and video footage.
“Having rapid access to the type of finance provided by the Accelerator Fund is crucial to allow companies to grow without the distraction of an equity fund raising exercise,” continues Jaenicke. Marilyn Huckerby, Director of the Surrey Enterprise Hub, said, “This award demonstrates how Surrey-based companies can benefit from local support as they look to expand in the UK and abroad.”
