i-TRAK stay on track with grant win
i-TRAK and the University of Surrey have recently been awarded a Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) grant worth £83,805 for a 30-month project to enhance i-TRAK’s lost property tracking services.
KTPs enable companies to take advantage of the expertise at a partnering University, in order to develop new products or processes. The programme will employ a graduate in the business to carry the project through – drawing on specialist knowledge at the University.
MD of i-TRAK, Adam Dalby, commented, “It’s been reported that the air transport industry loses in the region of $2.5 billion annually because of misconnects and mishandled baggage. Having been introduced to the Software Systems group at the University of Surrey by the Surrey Enterprise Hub we have designed a KTP project to accelerate the development and integration of a Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) chip into our existing i-TRAK luggage tracking service moving us towards the goal of eradicating lost luggage.”
