Airbus and Rolls Royce contracts enable ETCEL to go from strength to strength

Enabling Technologies Consulting Engineers Ltd (ETCEL), a client of the Isle of Wight Enterprise Hub based at the Innovation Centre in Newport, has been awarded three major contracts worth over half a million Euros.  Against stiff competition, ETCEL was awarded the contracts because of their technical excellence and capabilities in structural design and analysis.

The first two contract awards are with Airbus, a leading aircraft manufacturer, where ETCEL will assist in the design and structural analysis of the Airbus A350 XWB tail assembly and the structural analysis of the A400M Vertical Tail Plane.  The Airbus A350 XWB is a new family of long-range, wide-body airliners under development.

The third contract is with Rolls Royce Marine where ETCEL will assist the design of prototype composite structures for propulsion systems in high speed vessels.

Formed in 2001, ETCEL has successfully grown a client base of major companies in the aerospace, marine, wind energy and medical equipment sectors across Europe and North America.  The company specialises in structural design and analysis, with its emphasis on advanced composite materials.

Commenting, ETCEL Technical Director, Steve Ashworth, said: “We were selected for these contracts because of the breadth and depth of our expertise in design, composites technology and advanced non-linear structural analysis.  It’s a major achievement for a company like ours to be recognised and selected for such prestigious assignments.”

ETCEL’s Commercial Director, Dave Sibley, added: “Securing these contracts against tough international competition not only sets the business up securely for the future, it also means that we have a strong basis for continued growth, development and investment in enhancing our current capabilities.”
