Silverbear hit gold with £1.8m contract win

Surrey Enterprise Hub client Silverbear have beaten stiff competition from around the country to land a £1.8m contract. The development house Silverbear have been awarded the contract by Yorkshire Forward, the regional development agency for Yorkshire & Humber, to develop a regional information system.

The contract, worth over £1.8 million requires Silverbear to design, develop, integrate, implement and manage Yorkshire Forward’s regional information system incorporating a customer relationship management system (CRM), e-marketing system, supplier and knowledge management databases, reporting and analysis tools. The system will need to be integrated with current and planned future systems within Yorkshire Forward and appointed providers of Business Link services. In addition Silverbear will also be required to provide an ongoing hosting, support and maintenance service.

Due to the size of the contract, the procurement had to follow tight EU procedures and regulations, and Silverbear had to navigate a short-listing process, finally beating four other potential suppliers - including some of the UK’s largest systems integrators - over a six-month process.

Silverbear Managing Director Mark Travis commented, “We won the business because we were able to demonstrate excellent domain expertise; we developed an innovative approach; we had excellent customer references and produced high-quality tender documentation.”

Surrey Enterprise Hub Director Mike Lunch commented, “This is a fantastic success for Silverbear and it is a fine example of the ability of smaller companies to compete on equal terms with the big boys and win, by virtue of their innovation and experience, in a market where they really understand the needs of the customer.”
